Vivienne Dalton, 87, born in Ireland
Vivienne Dalton passed away with God’s gift of great peace and grace on Saturday, September 27, 2014 surrounded by her husband, sister, four children, fifteen grandchildren, nephew and their many spouses in her Danbury Hospital room.
Vivienne was born on July 29, 1927 in Ireland, the daughter of Louis and Eileen Dolan, and sister to Richard Dolan and Ann Kavanagh. She married Michael Joseph Dalton on June 27, 1951 who was with her to the end holding her hand as she was taken home. The couple immigrated to White Plains, NY in June, 1960 with their four children; June Mary, married to Peter Brown, Sylvia Mary, married to Christopher Walsh, Derek Michael Dalton, married to Karen Johannes, and Mary Louise, married to James O’Rourke.
“Gran” graced us with her special relationship with all of her 15 grandchildren, each one knowing he or she was the most special: from the Walsh family, Kelly Ann, wife of George Davis, Kyle, husband of Holly Yots, Cara, wife of Marco Vitolo, and Brendan, husband of Emer D’Alton; from the Brown family, Campbell, husband of Sarah Amato, Kristyn Brown, and Tara Brown; from the O’Rourke family, Seamus, husband of Elizabeth McAlpine, Meghan, wife of John Newman, Colleen, fiancé of Jeff Wolfson, Kerry and Kevin; and from the Dalton family, Dillon, Aileen and Conor.
She is also survived by six great grandchildren: Marco Vitolo, Christopher Walsh, Jack Davis, Felicity Brown, Harry Walsh, John Newman and blessed others soon to arrive, God willing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:15 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT.
Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery; White Plains, NY.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT.
