The Rev. Donald Baker, 87, former Ridgebury pastor
Rev. Donald H. Baker, 87, of Ridgefield, husband of Edith Yake and husband of the late Diane (Floyd) Baker, died on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence.
Rev. Baker was a former pastor of the Ridgebury Congregational Church, Ridgefield.
An area resident since 1987 coming from Maine, New York, Rev. Baker was a congregant of the Brookfield Congregational Church and participated in the life of Temple Shearith Israel of Ridgefield with his wife, Edith.
Don loved to make children happy with toys and stories.
In addition to his wife, Rev. Baker is survived by two daughters, Meredith (Tim) O'Brien and Dale V. Baker; a brother, Kenneth Baker; a step-son, Chris (Jenny) Yake; step-daughter, Bonnie Yake and her husband, David Koebensky and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Rev. Baker was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Patten Baker.
Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray will lead a non-denominational memorial service for Rev. Baker on Wednesday, March 27, at Ridgefield Crossings at 2:30 pm. The service will be held in the third floor community room.
There will be no calling hours.
