Robert “Bob” August Jasminski, 71, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Monday, April 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with mesothelioma.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (Maiuri), their children, Robert and his wife Jennifer of Ridgefield and Lynn Steel and her husband Nick of Mendon, MA and his four beautiful granddaughters who were his pride and joy: Katie, Elizabeth, Emma and Kayla. He is also survived by his brother, John and his wife Catherine; his sister-in-law, Barbara O’Brien and her husband Ed; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was born November 20, 1946 in Enfield, the son of the late August and Josephine (Hajec) Jasminski. He graduated from Enfield High School and attended the Ward School of Engineering at the University of Hartford. Bob had a fulfilling career at Southern New England Telephone for over 30 years, where he worked in numerous positions, including managing internet services for the East Coast. After retirement, he worked to establish an internet and cable company for Groton Utilities.

Bob was most happy cooking for his family, playing golf, fishing, bowling, and working in his yard and garden. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed traveling and spending winters in St. Thomas, USVI and summers in Westbrook. Bob was the family fix-it man and had a tool for everything. There was never a problem he could not solve, whether on the computer, with the car or around the house.

Bob lived life to the fullest. His family’s love for him was profound and all those who knew him will miss him dearly. He will be forever in their hearts.

Please join the family for a memorial service on Wednesday, May 2 at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. There will be calling hours from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. concluding with a service at 12:00 p.m.
