Richard F. Pagano, 87, of Ridgefield, husband of Eugenia (Aleide) Pagano, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2018 at Danbury Hospital.

Dick was born in New York, New York, April 28, 1931, a son of the late Frank and Anna (Garguilo) Pagano. Raised in the Bronx, he attended New York schools.

In early years was a sheet metal worker and later became the business agent from 1980 upon his retirement in 1993 for Union Local 38 of Brewster, NY.

He was a U.S. Army Korean veteran.

A resident of Ridgefield for the past forty five years coming from Westchester County, NY, he was a member of the Ridgefield Men’s Club, a member and a past president of the Italian American Mutual Aid Society, American Legion and of St. Mary’s Parish.

He was a NY Mets and NY Giants fan as well as a fan of the former Brooklyn Dodgers. Mr. Pagano was an avid golfer and was an all around the house jack of all trades.

In addition to his wife Eugenia of sixty-four years, he is survived by two sons, Frank Pagano and his wife Donna of Ridgefield and Richard Pagano and his wife Melanie of Brookfield; two daughters, Cynthia Stasieluk and her husband Paul of Wallingford, CT and Mary Ellen Pagano of Danbury; a brother, William Pagano of Yonkers, NY; a sister, Loretta Grillo of Sneads Ferry, NC; five grandchildren, Samuel, George, Jacqueline and Katie Khalifa Pagano and Jonathan Salazar Schouten and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pagano was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Pagano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
