Obituary: Helen Walczykowski, 96, of Ridgefield
She was born to Lottie and Joseph Kujawski in the Bronx in 1921. She was married to her wonderful husband, Edward, for 63 years and was the warm and loving mother of Edward, Jane and Mary.
Helen was devoted to her children. Though not a sports fan, she took them to Yankee games, made countless trips to Jones Beach and accepted all the stray animals they managed to bring home. As a member of St. Mary’s Parish in the Bronx, she was active in the Altar and Rosary, and both a Girl Scout and Brownie leader.
They moved to Ridgefield in 1992 where they were members of St. Mary’s Parish, but continued to be involved in activities in the Bronx with long time friends.
She was predeceased by siblings Joseph, Stanley, Ann, Marion and Genevie. Besides her husband and children, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses, aides and therapists from RVNA , who, along with son Ed, enabled Helen to live comfortably at home.
