Florence Horan Lawrynovicz, 96, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

Florence was born in Danbury on November 7, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Florence P. (Beck) Horan.

Florence was a graduate of Danbury High School and worked for many years at the Ridgefield library. She was married to the love of her life, Stanley Lawrynovicz, in 1941. Family was her life. Florence and Stan chose Ridgefield to build their home over 63 years ago.

She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Florence also enjoyed worldly travel with her husband, gardening, reading and great conversation. She and her husband were avid walkers — and you could often see Florence walking through town from her home on Soundview Rd. to St. Mary’s School or the library.

Florence leaves behind six grandchildren: Cynthia Tull, Karen (Garin) Wootton, Kristen Watson, Lexie Lawrynovicz, Kerry Lawrynovicz, and Adrian (Nick) Matzke and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley, her daughter Patricia Fix, and her son Stanley Lawrynovicz Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street in Ridgefield on Monday, March 5th, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 6:30 p.m. A joyful celebration of her life will follow for family and friends at her residence following the service to share stories.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Lawrynovicz’s name may be directed to either the Ridgefield Library or Saint Mary’s Catholic School.
