Colonel Aubrey Francis Messing, PhD, passed away quietly on 17 April 2018 in Camden, Maine shortly after his 90th birthday.

A World War II veteran, chemist and author at several National Laboratories, College professor, Project Manager of advanced power generation, Mason, Knight Templar, Shriner, and Genealogist, he will receive full honors with horse-drawn caisson, a military band, and 21-gun salute when he is interred in Arlington National Cemetery later this year.

He leaves behind a grieving family — his two sons and their wives, two granddaughters, a sister, sister-in-law, the mother of his sons and many nephews and nieces.
