Beryl Whitney passed away peacefully on January 8, 2018 in Danbury, Connecticut lovingly surrounded by her family.

Beryl was born on October 4, 1928 in Paterson, NJ and grew up in Brooklyn where she graduated from Erasmus High School and then took courses at University of Connecticut.

She started her working career as a secretary at Associated Merchandising Corp and then Grey Advertising. In 1962 she began working at The Personnel Laboratory where she met her second husband and was married July 2, 1966. She continued working at The Personnel Laboratory for the next 37 years.

Beryl was the epitome of elegance, poise and grace, with a little spunk mixed in! One of her great joys was helping others. Beryl volunteered at both the Stamford and New Fairfield Libraries, the Red Cross, the New Fairfield Senior Center and Squantz Engine Company. In 2014 Beryl and her husband moved to Ridgefield Crossings where she continued her volunteer work by reading to the residents of the memory care wing. She also, with her friend Art, put together the song book for the choir and ran the crossword game.

Beryl was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Trudy Johnson and Susan Conrad. She is survived by her loving husband King Whitney Jr., her daughters Valerie Richardson and Carol Morton, her son Robert Weiss, stepchildren Chris Whitney, Dana Woodbury and Rosemary Whitney, her nephews Christopher Conrad and Ron Stadleman, her grandchildren Jessica Murphy, Elizabeth Weiss, Steven Murphy and Becky Martin, her great-grandchild Camille Whitney Martin and numerous friends.

A memorial service is planned for February 10, 2018 at 1:30, at Ridgefield Crossings, 640 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, CT 06840.
