Alexander G. McCallion, known as Sandy to his friends, died in his home on July 16, 2017, in Ridgefield, CT. He was 91.

Alex was born on February 4, 1926m in the Bronx, NY. His parents were James (Jack) and Pearl.

He lived in the Bronx and served in the Navy/Coast Guard on LST’s and Troop Transports during World War 2 and participated in the invasions of Leyte and Okinowa. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

The family built a home in Ridgefield in 1949. After the war he held a variety of jobs eventually becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. He married Josephine Preninger in 1957.

Alex is survived by his wife Josephine, a sister Sally, daughters Susan and Sandra, son James and grandson Brian.

He is predeceased in death by his granddaughter, Kelly Ann.
