Mitchell G. Deneke, Reddingite worked at Ridgefield Mobil
Mitchell G. Deneke of Redding died July 9 at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven. He was 55.
He was born in New York Hospital on August 20, 1960, and graduated from Joel Barlow High School in Redding. He worked at the Ridgefield Mobil service station for more than 25 years.
He had a love for flying airplanes and working on cars, a passion for astronomy, spending many nights star gazing with his daughters. He also loved NASCAR and never missed a race, his family said.
He is survived by his father, Gerhart Deneke; three daughters, Cynthia Lynn and her husband, Aaron Almand, of Texas and their children Matty, Diana and Kendra; Theresa and her husband, Joseph McKeown, of Vermont and their children Savannah and Emma; Sarah Deneke of Redding; a sister, Donnalee and her husband, Paul Dexter, of New Hampshire, and nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Deneke, and his grandparents.
No services are scheduled.

A memorial will be set up at Ridgefield Mobil on Danbury Road Thursday through Saturday, July 14-15.
