A memorial service has been planned for Lodi Cann Kysor, who died  in Richmond, Va., last June 16, on her 91st birthday.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at St. Stephen’s Church.

Ms. Kysor was the first woman chairman of the Board of Education in 1970.

She was born on June 16, 1922, in Corey, La., to William Derwood Cann Sr. and Lodi DeSeay Cann.

Mrs. Kysor also served as president of the Board of the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association and held the same position with the Ridgefield Library. She belonged to P.E.O.,  the Caudatowa Garden Club, and the Commission on Aging.

A memorial service was held last year in Virginia.
