Linnea H. Montanari, 88, of Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday evening, Oct.14, 2014, with her family by her side.

She was born in Sweden on Feb. 19, 1926, and came to America, in the late 1940s while in her early twenties to work as a Nanny for a Ridgefield family.  While working in Ridgefield she met and married the late Frank P. Montanari, and they were married for 60 years. They were longtime Ridgefield residents.

She is survived by a son, Paul Montanari of Ridgefield, and a daughter Ellen Montanari of Danbury.  She is also survived by a daughter in law Elizabeth and a grandson, James W. Montanari, as well as several nieces and nephews in Sweden.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 351 Main Street.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 110 North Street.

There will be no calling hours.
