Joyce Petroff Mele of Ridgefield died Saturday, July 21, at Danbury Hospital. She was 63 years old.

Ms. Mele was born in Neptune, N.J., and had lived in Ridgefield since 1995.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Drew University and her M.B.A from Monmouth University. She was a member of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel and held weekly Bible studies in her home.

“Joyce loved gardening, cooking, woodworking, and spending summers on the beach,” her family said.

Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Raymond Mele; her three daughters, Elizabeth, Alexandra and Julianne; her mother, Ann Petroff, and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Elaine Petroff, David and Beth Petroff, and Gregory and Holly Petroff.

The viewing will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, N.J., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be at First Baptist Church, 81 West Main Street, Freehold, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
