John Carlton “JC” Gore
John Carlton “JC” Gore, a 30 year resident of Ridgefield passed away in the early evening of November 12. John was recovering from an 8 month battle with colon cancer and died peacefully, reading a book with his golden retriever “Colt” at his side. John was married to Debbie Gore for 31 years and is survived by Debbie and their two son’s Tyler and Connor who were John’s whole life.
John was born in Scranton PA in 1951. John graduated from Rippowam High School in Stamford and attended the University of Arizona where he studied Architecture. John owned and operated New England Renovation Company since 1986 when he built his first spec house in Farview Farm, Redding. John would continue to build and renovate homes in Ridgefield, Wilton and Greenwich and in 2013 took on his son Tyler as a partner. One of John’s greatest joys in life was playing golf with his two sons.
John’s biggest passion was boating. John loved to navigate the waters of the Long Island Sound and he and Debbie had many wonderful adventures with just the two of them boating throughout the Caribbean. John was a true captain, who loved any kind of weather and seas.
John was also survived by Tyler Gore’s fiancé, Lauren Bergren of Ridgefield, his dear sister Wendy Overstreet of Kansas, Tony and Susan Gore of Bethel, Rusty Gore, Reed Archambault , Blair Archambault, Stacy and Kelly Gore, all of California, 10 nieces and nephews and 2 great nephews. John was predeceased by his mother, Victoria Sellner, father, Russell Gore and nephew, Alexander Archambault.
A memorial service and celebration of John’s life will be held on Sunday, December 6, 1:00 PM at the Lounsbury House, 316 Main Street, Ridgefield CT.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Roar Animal Shelter of Ridgefield or the Long Island Sound Fund at the office of Long Island Sound Programs, DEEP, 79 Elm Street, Hartford CT.
