Helen Piacquadio, 70
Mrs. Piacquadio was born on March 15, 1945 in New York City, a daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Kautz) Banyai.
A resident of Bethel for the past 3 years since coming from Ridgefield; Mrs. Piacquadio was very involved in a number of activities in her years spent in Ridgefield. She was a delivery driver and a cook for Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield; she was also a truffle maker and chocolatier at Deborah Anne’s Sweet Shoppe.
She was very active in St. Mary’s Church of Ridgefield; she was a member of the Cursillo movement in the Catholic Church, the RCIA and the Adoration Chapel.
Mrs. Piacquadio is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Onofrio and their children: her son, John and his wife Karen; and her daughter, Jennifer.
She is also survived by a sister, Alice Rivera.
She was known to many friends and family as an outgoing, social comedian who would always put a smile on your face. She had an innate eye for design, was very creative and artistic. She was a caring woman who became a surrogate mother to many. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 10:15 AM at St. Mary Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
