Ellie Czyr, 74, dental assistant, longtime Ridgefielder
Ellie Czyr of Lansdale, PA died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. She was 74.
She was married for 47 wonderful years to Edward J. Czyr, who passed away in 2004.
Born in Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William Raymond and Lois Catherine Hannigan Dredge.
Ellie lived in Ridgefield, CT most of her life and had been a resident of Lansdale since 1993.
She worked for over 15 years as a dental assistant for Drs. Nyce, Tolley and Lorenzo in Lansdale.
Ellie liked gardening and going to the beach and was an avid Giants football fan. Most of all Ellie enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Ellie was an amazing woman who fought her battle against breast cancer with incredible strength, grace and dignity. Throughout her journey, her smile and sense of humor never left her.
She is survived by her two daughters: Lauren C. Tyler and her husband, Joseph Pepe, of New Hope and Lisa C. Bitzer and her husband, William, of Doylestown; her three grandchildren: Adam, Zac and Derek Bitzer; her brother: William Bruce Dredge of Princeton, NJ, a sister-in-law: Frances Healey of Portland, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ellie was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Rd., Doylestown, where friends may call from 10 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ellie s name may be made to Stand Up To Cancer, designated for the breast cancer dream team, 1801 W. Olympic Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91199.
