Elizabeth Case Bacheler of Highlands, N.J., an artist and former Ridgefielder, died Wednesday, July 25, in Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, N.J. She was 67 and the widow of Jon Scott Henderson.

Known as Libby, Ms. Bacheler was born in Summit, N.J., on Nov. 25, 1944, daughter of the late Merrill and Christl Stangl Bacheler. She was a 1963 graduate of Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington, N.J., and Colby Sawyer Junior College.

She had lived in Flemington for 20 years, then married and moved to Ridgefield for the next 20 years, spent time in Manhattan, and then retired to the Jersey Shore.

When in Ridgefield, she attended Wooster Community Art Center and worked for the Frame & Art Shop on Main Street. In later years, she volunteered in Long Branch, N.J. for the Disney Goldsmith Center, teaching painting.

Surviving are a daughter, Heidi Henderson and son-in-law, David Weart, of Killington, Vt.; a son, Thomas Henderson and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Henderson, of Allendale, N.J.; two brothers, Scott Bacheler of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Stewart Bacheler of Rotonda, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Abigail Henderson and Jack Henderson, both of Allendale.

Graveside services in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, were private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington. There will be no calling hours.
