Elizabeth C. Masten, 99, electronics assembler

Elizabeth (Ciotti) Masten, 99, of Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield, wife of the late Edgar J. Masten, died at her home on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

Mrs. Masten was born in Bridgeport, on Oct. 28, 1914, daughter of Antonio and Virginia (Tossi) Ciotti. At the age of five, Mrs. Masten moved with her family from Bridgeport to Ridgefield where she attended Ridgefield schools.

Mrs. Masten moved to Danbury in 1981 after the passing of her husband in 1978 to make her home with her daughter, Kathleen Kearney.

She was a retired electronics assembler with Digitech of Danbury.

In addition to her daughter, Ms. Kearney of Danbury, Mrs. Masten is survived by an additional daughter, Patricia Battaglioli and her husband, Anthony of Ridgefield; a son, John E. Masten and his wife, Susan of Granite Quarry, N.C.; a sister, Virginia Bassett of Monro; seven grandchildren, Lynn Keeler, Beth Sypher, Scott Masten, Samantha Masten Brown and her husband, Kenneth, Nicole Kearney, AnnMarie Kearney and Christina Kearney; seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Masten was predeceased by seven brothers, Vincenzo, Angelo, Antonio, Robert, Tito, Joseph and Richard and by four sisters, Victoria Toth, Rose Petersen, Ida Venezia and Antoinette Ciotti.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street on Saturday, June 14, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated that day at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah Street.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
