Elizabeth Ann Volk, a love of music
Elizabeth Ann ‘Liz’ Volk died on Feb. 8 in Redding, surrounded by her life partner, Josephine Mineo, a longtime Ridgefield Realtor, and her family and friends.
She was born, Nov. 22, 1961, in Queens, N.Y. to Ana Golden and Robert Volk. She is survived by three brothers, Robert, William and John, their spouses and five nieces and nephews.
She earned an associates degree from Queensboro College and worked at Westchester Medical Center as an interventional radiology technician for 10 years.
She loved music and was known for enjoying music with her friends, created playlists for all occasions and, with her partner Jo Mineo, hosting hundreds of dance parties over the past decade.She was also had a love of sports and regularly attended womens UConn basketball games, Mets, Jets and Giants games.
A memorial celebration will take place Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 10 to 1 at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Ave. Hawthorne, N.Y. with a burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A Mass at St. Luke’s Church Whitestone will take place at a date to be announced.
