Edward (“E.B.”) Brien White died in his sleep at his home in Green Valley, Ariz. on Tuesday, Jan. 19.  He was 78 years old.

He was born in Minnesota, graduated from Notre Dame in 1959, and served in the military as a captain in the U.S. Army for eight years before joining General Mills as a marketer. He later went on to hold numerous corporate positions at American Can and Platex before establishing his own executive search firm.

He lived in Ridgefield from 1967 to 1992 and was active in the beginning of SCOR, and served as a coach for several years.

He was predeceased by his partner Marcia Ryan. Survivors include his children with former wife Karen Sethre White: Melissa (Ross) Shaheen of Raleigh, N.C.; John “Fuzz” (Lara) White of Highland Park, Ill., and Melinda (Rob) Petrucelli of Fairfield, as well as a his brothers, Bruce and Greg, son, Gordon, with Marcia Ryan, several nieces and nephews and numerous grandchildren.
