Edith Bronstein Yake, 90 of Downingtown, PA, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Simpson Meadows in Downingtown.

She was the wife of the late Rev. Donald H. Baker.

Born April 17, 1924 in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Bronstein and the late Fannie Goldberg Bronstein.

Edith earned her Under Graduate Degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and received her Master’s Degree from Columbia University in New York, NY.

She was a Sociology Professor at Western Connecticut State University for 25 years.

Edith was a long time member of the Westport Unitarian Church Singles Group in the 1980’s as well as Temple Shearith Israel and Founder’s Hall Senior Center in Ridgefield, Ct.

She was world traveled and loved music, people, and living life to the fullest.

Edith is survived by her children, Bonnie P. Yake and her husband David Koebensky of Downingtown, PA and Christopher M. Yake and his wife Jeanne Yake of Danbury, CT.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Memorial Service, at 11 am on Sunday, October 12th, 2014 at Simpson Meadows 101 Plaza Drive, Downingtown, PA 19335.  A second memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct 19, 2014 at the First Congregational Church 103 Main St. Ridgefield, CT 06877.

Interment will be private.
