Charles “Chuck” Fizer, 77, of Sanibel, Florida died November 5, 2015 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Chuck was born June 14, 1938 in East Chicago, IN to Charles and Anne Fizer. He graduated from Calumet High School in Indiana and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Chuck lived in California for 10 years where he worked for IBM and in Ridgefield, Connecticut for 35 years before moving to Sanibel in 2010. He has been active in the Sanibel Captiva Sail and Power Squadron and was recently named chairman of the Sanibel-Captiva Republican Caucus. Chuck was a passionate student of the Constitution of the United States. While living in Ridgefield, he was Vice President of Sales for Composition Systems, Inc. In Elmsford, NY and then formed his own software design and development consulting business in Danbury, CT. He was active in supporting youth soccer and hockey, the Danbury Area Computer Society,

Literacy Volunteers and the Appalachian Service Project.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Katharine “Kate”; son, Charles of New Milford, CT; daughters, Michele Neville of Olympia, Washington, Deborah Fizer of Griffith, Indiana and Annel Henderson of Centennial, Colorado; seven grandchildren and a brother, Timothy Fizer of LaPorte, IN.
