Audrey G. Beaumont of Mystic, CT, died May 7, 2012, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was 82 years old.

Mrs. Beaumont was born on January 22, 1930, in Washington, DC to Marie R. and Walter J. Greenleaf. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and the University of Wisconsin at Madison, majoring in Home Economics Education.

She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Mrs. Beaumont married her high school sweetheart Charles D. Beaumont, III on June 27, 1953, in Washington, DC.

During her lifetime she accomplished many things including being Certified by the Library of Congress to create books in Braille. Mrs. Beaumont was a member of the Mystic Congregational Church and served on the Board of Trustees. She also served on the Board of Trustees of the Mystic Noank Library as well as the Board of Trustees of the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.

She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Mystic Garden Club, Mason’s Island Yacht Club and the Stonington Country Club. Mrs. Beaumont and her husband were the owners and operators of Mystic Shipyard for over 20 years.

Mrs. Beaumont was an skilled Bridge player and enjoyed playing in several different groups. But the thing that she enjoyed most in her life was her family which she dearly loved. Her children always enjoyed her impressive culinary and baking skills and everyone in the family had several beautifully knit sweaters that she made.

Besides her husband Charles (Beau) she leaves four children, Teresa S. Beaumont of Redding, CT, (formerly of Ridgefield), Gina B. Pelcher (Jack) of Jupiter, Fl., C. David Beaumont IV (Susan) of Nantucket, MA., Steven J. Beaumont of Riverside, CT., eleven grandchildren, William Charles Beaumont (Suzanne) of New Milford, CT, Rebecca B. Talcott (Jim) of Redding, CT, Lindsay Lepage (Matt) of Williston,VT., Jeffrey B. Seaver of Williston, VT , Desiree Beaumont of NYC, NY, Adelle Beaumont of Durham, New Hampshire, Brianna Beaumont of Nantucket, MA., Kelly Beaumont of NYC, NY, Steven J. Beaumont of Stamford, CT, Heather Beaumont of Hamden, CT, Lauren Beaumont of Hartford, CT, and three great grand children Andrew, Gabriella and Isabella.

The funeral will be held at the Mystic Congregational Church, Friday May 11 at 1:00 pm and burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to the Dennison Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic, CT or a charity of your choice.
