Alice M. Schlierf, 82, died on June 4, surrounded by her children and family. 

She was born in Mt. Vernon on Sept. 12, 1931, to the late James J. and Elizabeth Larkin Reilly. Mrs. Schlierf and her husband, the late Frank A. Schlierf, lived in Yonkers, N.Y. for more than 20 years where they raised their family. She retired from her secretarial position at Union Carbide as she began her family. Recently Mrs. Schlierf  had moved to Ridgefield, where she enjoyed quiet country living.

She is survived by her children Maryann (Thomas) McDonough of Newtown, John Schlierf of Bethel, and James (Janine) Schlierf of Ridgefield, five grandchildren Kate, Tom and Christopher McDonough and Kevin and Samantha Schlierf.

She is also survived by two sisters MaryAnn Reilly and Elizabeth (Betty) Hodges, both of Yonkers, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by two brothers, James J. Reilly of Yonkers and John P. Reilly of Boscawen, N.H., a sister Kathleen Cottrell of Pelham and her grandson Brian Schlierf of Ridgefield.

The family expressed gratitude to the medical staff of Danbury Hospital for the care Mrs. Schlierf received. Reposing was held at the Flower Funeral Home Inc. in Yonkers, with visitation Friday, June 6. A mass was held the next day at St. John the Baptist Church. Interment was at Gate of Heaven.
