The town is seeking $111,000 in reimbursements from the Federal Emergency Management Agency — “FEMA” — for two big storms that hit earlier this year.

The costs are about evenly split between the March nor’easter and the more recent May macroburst, Controller Kevin Redmond told the finance board at its June 19 meeting.

Across all of Fairfield County costs for the macroburst were in the vicinity of $3.2 million, Redmond said.

“Brookfield area,” said finance board member Dick Moccia, “they had more trees down in that area than they did in Sandy.”
