The Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans to excavate and grade part of the Innisfree estate at 153 West Mountain Road, owned for several decades by Dr. Patrick and Vera Neligan. The plan calls for the removal of some 2,000 cubic yards of material, all in preparation for the construction of a six-bedroom home on the property. The approval came on the conditions that the soil be tested near the site of a planned storm water management system, as well as oversight by an engineer.

Commissioner John Katz asked how many truck runs would be required to remove the material from the property.

Vice Chairman Joe Fossi paused for a moment to do some mental calculations, and then answered — 337.

“It’s not germane, but I thought it interesting enough that the record reflect it,” Katz said.
