Pension ordinance heads to voters Oct. 24
A rewrite of the ordinance governing the town Pension Commission will be put before voters. The Board of Selectmen has scheduled the revised ordinance for a public hearing and town meeting Wednesday, Oct. 24.
“It’s a change of words to align with reality,” Pension Commission member Michael Rettger told the selectmen at their Sept. 26 meeting.
The previous wording was some 40-years old.
The language has been reviewed by the town attorneys at Cohen and Wolf.
The Pension Commission has also proposed revised language for the town charter that will come before voters as part of the charter revisions on the November election ballot.
