The school board will interview candidates to be the principal at Scotland Elementary School at 6 p.m. tonight — Tuesday, Nov. 20. The board is set to conduct the interviews in a closed-door executive session before opening the meeting to the public where it will possibly vote on the school's new principal.

The meeting will take place in the Leheny conference room in the school administrative office at 66 Prospect Street.
The new principal will replace William Santarsiero, who was hired as an interim principal for the school in August.
Joanna Genovese, Scotland Elementary’s last full-time principal, resigned over the summer after parents called for her to be fired after raising concerns about school safety and social media posts that Genovese had made on her personal Facebook page.
School board Chair Fran Walton said she could not release how many candidates the board will interview tonight.
