Superintendent Karen Baldwin is resigning, but exactly when and what agreement she will make as part of her stepping down remains to be seen.

Board of Education Chair Fran Walton said last week that resignation negotiations with Baldwin are still ongoing. “Soon,” she said, when asked about when the public can expect an agreement to be reached.

Baldwin did not a return a request for comment on the negotiations for this article.

The Board of Education announced March 27 that it will be actively looking for a new superintendent to replace Baldwin. The board voted unanimously to appoint a search committee to find a candidate.

First Selectman Rudy Marconi said at the Board of Finance meeting that same night that he had met with Walton and some members of the board.

“I agree 100% it’s the best deal for the town,” he said.
