Ridgefield schools receive three-hour delay Wednesday
Ridgefield Public Schools have announced a three-hour delay Wednesday, Jan. 30.
"We are monitoring the possibility of afternoon snow squalls and may need to change to a closure," the district said on its Twitter account at 5:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service predicts scattered snow squalls between 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
"Heads up for those on the road during the Wednesday PM commute as near white-out conditions will be possible as it will be pouring snow out of some of these forecast squalls," the report said.
In addition to the snow, Gov. Ned Lamont has activated the Severe Cold Weather Protocol from Wednesday to Sunday "to ensure the most vulnerable populations receive protection from the severe cold."
