Ridgefield High School dismisses students after threat (UPDATED)
Ridgefield High School students were dismissed at 9:30 a.m. after a written threat was found in the women's restroom.
"Out of an abundance of caution, we are dismissing RHS at 9:30am," the school district wrote on its website. "This dismissal (and the threat) does not affect SRMS. The investigation is ongoing."
Ridgefield High School administrators did not respond to The Ridgefield Press inquiries for more information.
Ridgefield police released a statement at noon.
"To correct any rumors in regards to the ongoing investigation involving Ridgefield High School," Capt. Shawn Platt wrote. "The RPD is actively investigating a written threat (no reference to bombs) that was written in a women's restroom. Out of an abundance of caution the high school was dismissed early. We will update you once we have more information."
The case remains under investigation, the district wrote on its website Thursday.
