The Ridgefield High School 2017-18 theatrical productions of Cinderella and The Children’s Hour received a combined 17 nominations for the 15th annual Connecticut Halo Awards. The Halo Awards are presented annually by Seven Angels Theatre of Waterbury, Connecticut and celebrate the best of high school theatre in Connecticut. The awards will be presented at the Palace Theatre in Waterbury over the course of two nights, May 29-30. The RHS productions will be considered on May 30.
The 12 nominations for the musical Cinderella are: Best Contemporary Musical, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Contemporary Musical for Annabel Briody as Ella, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Contemporary Musical for Owen Gaydos as Topher, Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Musical for Emily Parker as Madame, Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Musical for Evan Smolin as Sebastian, Best Comic Male Performance in a Musical for Thomas Mitchell as Jean-Michel, Best Comic Female Performance in a Musical for Caroline Malley as Charlotte, Best Dancing, Best Chorus, Best Orchestra, Best Specialty Ensemble for Annabel Briody, Lucy Basile, Caroline Malley and Emily Parker in the musical number “A Lovely Night,” and Best Hair and Make-Up for Kaitlyn Mitchell, Mallory Shofi, Olivia Jones and Olivia Wieland.
