Congressman Jim Himes has won re-election to the U.S. House in Connecticut's fourth congressional district.

The Democratic incumbent edged out Republican challenged Harry Arora, with his victory being announced shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Himes won three of Ridgefield's four voting district, defeating Arora 4,761 to 3,404 votes. He has received the second most votes of any candidate on this year's ballot. U.S. Senator Chris Murphy received 4,818 votes across the three districts, and announced his victory earlier in the night.

Ridgefield is still tallying votes from its third voting district (Yanity) following a ballot machine malfunction earlier Tuesday.
