Three cars broken into in northern Ridgefield

A burglar broke into two cars on Clayton Place and another one on Bridle Trail during the early morning hours Monday, June 17.
A surveillance video posted online shows a tall, thin individual entering a gray SUV and a silver hatchback parked in a Clayton Place driveway at 5:06 a.m. The suspect’s face is obscured by a hoodie.
Ridgefield police reported one vehicle was rummaged through at the Clayton Place home and a second car was burglarized on Bridle Trail.
Police spokesman Capt. Shawn Platt said the Clayton Place homeowner only reported one car had been entered, but acknowledged the video may show the burglar entering a second car.
Platt said the gender of the suspected car burglar is unclear. He said only one individual was reported to police.
Nothing was reported stolen in either incident, police said on Facebook.
“Please remember to lock your vehicles and remove all valuables,” police said. Platt said residents should remember to lock their cars in the evening and remove their keys, or key fobs for cars with proximity-key systems, from their vehicles.
Residents can report any suspicious activity the Ridgefield Police Department at 203-438-6531.
