Surveillance video helps Ridgefield cops nab Verizon shoplifter

A Main Street woman was arrested and charged with larceny in the sixth degree at the Verizon store on Danbury Road Monday, May 7, at 4:20 p.m.

Ridgefield police said Olivia Romero, 31, was caught on surveillance video putting items into a bag and leaving the store without paying.

According to a report, police responded to a shoplifting complaint from a store employee.

Police interviewed Romero and issued her a misdemeanor summons.

She was released at the scene on a promise to appear in court Thursday, May 24.
