Ridgefield is already beginning to feel the effects of Tuesday's thunderstorms. Both the fire and police departments have responded to downed tree wires and utility pole fires less than a hour into the storm.

Below is a list of the storm damage. The Press will keep it updated until the storm passes through town.

  • Bobby's Court is closed off because of a downed live wire. The wire is down at 3 Bobby's Court.
  • External smoke damage has been reported at 60 Twin Ridge Road. It was caused by lightning striking a chimney. Part of the chimney has collapsed. All utilities have been turned off.
  • Fire department has reported a tree and pole on fire at 227 Branchville Road. The spark was caused by lightning.
