Ridgefield police arrest Ledges Road woman for evasion, find wooden post sticking out of car door
A Ledges Road woman was arrested for evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane on Ledges Road at 8:19 a.m. Friday, May 17.
Ridgefield police said the 36-year-old driver failed to immediately stop and contact the police after getting involved in a one-car accident at 148 Ledges Road.
According to a report, police were dispatched to the parking lot of Barlow Mountain Elementary School after receiving a complaint about an illegally parked vehicle with extensive exterior damage.
Police found an eight-foot wooden post sticking out of the front passenger side of the driver's black Mercedes.
She had caused property damage at the Ledges Road home, police said, and knowingly did not provide any information to the homeowner.
She was released on a promise to appear in court Monday, June 3.
