Ridgefield fire department responds to blaze in Vista

The Ridgefield Fire Department sent two trucks and several firefighters to a house fire in nearby Vista, N.Y. around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13.

Ridgefield crews remain on scene combating the blaze around 8:15 Wednesday.

Also on the scene are fire police from Ridgefield who helped close down the area near Route 123. An ambulance from Ridgefield was also called to assist at the scene. It was reported that one person was rushed to hospital. The severity of the injury is unknown.

The fire has severely damaged the two-story home, including the structure's roof which collapsed earlier Wednesday night.

The home is reportedly in area where there are no fire hydrants.

In addition to Ridgefield, first responders from Goldens Bridge, Pound Ridge, and South Salem are on the scene.
