The following reports were written by The Ridgefield Police Department between Tuesday, Dec. 5, and Monday, Dec. 11:

Hit-and-run investigation

Police are investigating a hit-and-run of a pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 18. Police say a 26-year-old man was struck by a northbound truck while walking in the northbound shoulder of Ethan Allen Highway. The car is reported to be a newer model black pickup truck, possibly a Dodge Ram Quad Cab. There may be damage to the passenger-side mirror. The driver pulled over and walked around to the passenger side of the vehicle, before returning to the driver’s seat and pulling away north on Ethan Allen Highway. The pedestrian injured in the accident was transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Hartling at 203-438-6531.

K-9 discovers narcotics possession

Police arrested Joseph D. Duncan, 20, of Danbury, on Thursday, Dec. 7, for possession of narcotics. Duncan was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license. Police say officers conducting a radar detail pulled Duncan over on North Street at 3:36 p.m. after they clocked his vehicle driving over the posted speed limit. After learning that Duncan was driving without a license, the officer on the scene requested a K-9 unit. The officers searched the car after Ridgefield K-9 Loki indicated there were narcotics inside the car. Police say Duncan was illegally in possession of narcotics. He was released on a $100 bond, and is set to appear before Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 20.

Anthony Martinetti, 39, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., was arrested Friday, Dec. 8,  at 12:15 a.m. for driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right and speeding, after uniformed officers pulled him over on Ethan Allen Highway. Police say Martinetti was under the influence of drugs “and/or alcohol” at the time of his arrest. He was held on a $200 bond, and appeared in Danbury Superior Court later that same day. He is due back in court on Jan. 5, awaiting a plea deal.

Trumbull police arrested Edward Thorness, 38, of Shelton on Thursday, Dec. 7, for larceny charges related to a June 19 incident. Thorness was released into Ridgefield police custody at the Trumbull headquarters, and charged with larceny in the sixth degree. He was released by Ridgefield police on a $100 cash bond. He is set to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 21.

Failure to appear

Police arrested Courtney V. Hodge, 27, of Norwalk, for failure to appear in the second degree on Thursday, Dec. 7. Police say they responded to reports of an erratic driver traveling north on Wilton Road West around 7:28 p.m. Uniformed officers pulled the suspected driver over on Main Street. An investigation revealed that Hodge had an active PRAWN warrant out of Stamford. Hodge was taken back to Ridgefield police headquarters, where she was charged. Hodge posted bail of $5,000, and was released from police custody. She is set to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 20.
