Norwalk driver charged with second DUI

A Norwalk man was arrested for driving under the influence on Wilton Road West at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Police said Denis Godoy, 43, was pulled over for speeding and failure to maintain his lane.

According to a report, Godoy failed a field sobriety test at the scene. An investigation revealed Godoy had been previously arrested for drunk driving and the car he was operating Jan. 16 was not fitted with an ignition interlock device — a system he’s legally required to have in his car.

Godoy was taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with DUI, speeding, failure to drive in the proper lane, and driving without an ignition interlock device.

He was released after posting $200 bond and is scheduled appear in court Jan. 30.
