New Milford man’s car rear ends Ridgefield town highway truck, creates three-car accident

A 71-year-old New Milford man was cited for following too closely after his vehicle rear-ended a town highway pickup truck that created a three-car accident in front of the Shell gas station on Danbury Road at 11:20 a.m. Monday, June 10.
Ridgefield police said the driver was unable to stop in time, and his car collided with the rear of the truck. A third car, stopped at a red light at the intersection of Danbury Road and Farmingville Road, was also struck.
A 70-year-old Bethel man was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Ridgefield Fire Department following the crash, according to a report. A 35-year-old Danbury man was also taken to the hospital with injuries sustained in the collision.
Two cars were towed with moderate but “disabling” damage, police said. The report did not specify whether the town truck was towed.
