Money stolen from cars parked outside Old Sib Road home
Ridgefield police are investigating the burglary of three cars parked in the driveway of an Old Sib Road home during the overnight hours of Tuesday, April 24. Residents of the home reported the car break-ins to Ridgefield police Wednesday, April 25, at 7:47 a.m., police Capt. Jeff Kreitz told The Press Tuesday, May 8.
He said a credit card and cash totaling less than $500 were taken from the vehicles.
The robbery fits the profile of a group of Waterbury thieves that steals from unlocked cars and the valuables left inside in the residential driveways of affluent neighborhoods throughout Fairfield County.
Kreitz reminded residents to lock their doors and remove the keys from their car, along with any valuables. He said they should call the police immediately if they hear or see anything suspicious.
