A Brookfield man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Danbury Road at 11:51 p.m. Friday, March 30.

Ridgefield police said Christopher Perrozza, 29, was also charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane.

According to a report, Perrozza’s Audi A4 struck a utility pole on Main Street.

Perrozza drove away from the scene before police arrived, the report said, but his car was later intercepted traveling northbound on Danbury Road.

An investigation determined that Perrozza was driving under the influence.

The Eversource utility pole Perrozza collided with was damaged in the crash, the report said, and Perrozza’s car was later towed away with moderate damage.

Perrozza was released after posting bond of $1,000. He is due to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Tuesday, April 17.
