The Ridgefield Police Department will begin hosting its annual Citizen Police Academy Tuesday, March 27.

The academy, which aims to connect the community and the police, educates participants about various aspects of police work.

Topics that will be covered include crime scene investigation, firearms, Tasers, speed enforcement, DUI enforcement, search and seizure, and department history.

The academy meets every Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. for eight weeks. It will be held at police headquarters, located at 76 East Ridge Road.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application and should live or work in Ridgefield.
