Editor's note: The cause of last night's power outage was a tree limb that knocked down a line at the corner of Danbury Road and Grove Street. Power was restored by 11:30 p.m. It was previously reported that a transformer had blown up on Grove Street.

Hundreds of Ridgefield residents have been without power since 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Eversource crews have responded to Danbury Road near Walgreens to restore power.

Eversource reported 858 customers are without power as of 10:38 p.m. Wednesday.

Eversource expects power to be on scene around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.

Fire police are currently re-directing traffic at the corner of Danbury Road and Grove Street while Eversource performs repairs.

Road affected by the outage include:


  • Main Street

  • Sunset Lane

  • Grove Street

  • North Salem Road

  • South Street

  • Barrack Hill Road (restored)

  • Fulling Mill Lane (restored)
