The Ridgefield High School 2018-19 theatrical productions of Almost, Maine and The Addams Family received a combined 17 nominations for the 16th Annual Halo Awards. The Halo Awards are presented annually by Seven Angels Theatre of Waterbury and celebrate the best of high school theatre in Connecticut. More than 60 high schools throughout the state participate. The awards will be presented at the Palace Theatre in Waterbury over the course of three nights, with Ridgefield High School\u2019s achievements recognized on June 3. Shane Jaeger is nominated for Stage Management of both Almost, Maine and The Addams Family. Also nominated for both shows are RJ Carey and Donata Libonati for Sound Design and Kaitlyn Mitchell for Hair and Makeup Design. The Addams Family received nominations for Best Orchestra, Best Chorus and Best Dancing as well as individual nominations for Evan Smolin (Gomez Addams) for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Matt Carpenter (Lurch) for Best Comic Male Performance in a Musical, Lucy Basile (Grandma Addams) for Best Comic Female Performance in a Musical, and Evan Smolin and Emily Parker (Morticia Addams) for Best Performance by a Couple in a Musical. Almost, Maine is nominated for Best Contemporary Play and Best Performance by a Cast in an Ensemble Play or Musical. Liam Huff and Caroline Malley, as Dave and Rhonda, each are nominated for Best Standout Performance in an Ensemble Play and Best Comic Performance in a Play. Riley Grossman and Emily Parker, as Lendall and Gayle, are nominated for Best Performance by a Couple in a Play.
