Young pianist performs in Manhattan twice
Fifteen-year-old Ridgefield resident Ava Turner, a home-schooled 10th grade student and pianist, performed the Chopin Ballade No. 3 in A-flat major, Op. 47, in the Gifted Young People’s Concert sponsored by the Leschetizky Association at the Greenwich House Music School in Manhattan on Feb. 25.
She was selected by the judges to perform in the Annual Awards Concert on March 4 at the Tenri Cultural Institute, also in Manhattan.
Ava has been a student of Edith G. Sullivan of Danbury for the past nine years and has been a top prize winner in many competitions sponsored by the Schubert Club of Fairfield County and the Connecticut State Music Teachers Association.
