Woman’s Club starts Letters From Home project

Letters From Home, a new service project from the Ridgefield Woman’s Club, aims to enlist club members to correspond with Ridgefield servicemen and women stationed abroad. Writers will share local news and events, while offering grateful support for the commitment made by each and every member of the military.

Names and addresses of 20 to 30 local members of the military have been supplied by The Ridgefield Press, but anyone in the community may add a name to the list by calling Pat King of the Woman’s Club at 203-438-3089.

“A friendly letter, in today’s electronic world, may seem quaint and old-fashioned to some,” King said. “To our young men and women stationed overseas, a letter from home means many things, but may also say, ‘You have not been forgotten.’”
