Whole blue you: Ridgefield Police to change uniforms on New Year's Day

The Ridgefield Police Department has announced that on Jan. 1, 2018, its police officers will change to a new blue uniform.

The Board of Police Commissioners and the Chief of Police have researched and reviewed this change and, after input from department staff, made the decision to replace the department’s current gray uniform.

The new uniform is a traditional Midnight Blue, and incorporates the current uniform patch. The new uniforms will have embroidered rank insignias and officer names.

The current gray uniform will continue to be worn by the Department police officers for special occasions such as the annual Sept. 11 Ceremony and the department’s Memorial Day event.
