Thrift Shop grant to support Keeler Tavern Museum's Visitor Center
Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC) has received a $17,000 grant from Ridgefield Thrift Shop to help pay for the design, purchase and installation of a reception desk and information wall in its new Visitor Center.
“We are immensely grateful to The Ridgefield Thrift Shop for this funding, which will help us bring the visitor reception area up to the elegant, polished standard of the renovated space surrounding it,” says Hilary Micalizzi, board president. “Everything about the reception area is designed to be welcoming, continuing the tradition of hospitality that dates back to our site’s tavern days as a center for community life.” The Visitor Center’s new reception area will be unveiled at a Grand Opening event on July 4th, 2019.
The Ridgefield Thrift Shop grant will pay for reception furniture that incorporates a computer workstation, point-of-sale terminal, and security monitoring equipment; wall- and counter-mounted panels to accommodate audio/visual displays with information about upcoming programs, events and volunteer opportunities; and a merchandise display solution to highlight items from the Museum Shop
